I live in Kansas, so I don’t know anything about divorce attorney’s in New Mexico, but I do know that if the two of you can agree on everything, the cheapest thing to do is get a EZ Divorce kit (Staples sells them) and then fill the forms in yourself. In Kansas, it’s difficult to get advice on filing your own divorce, but if you go to the judge and the papers aren’t right, he’ll just tell you what you still need to provide in order to finalize your divorce. Once you buy the kit you can even download the forms from the net so that you don’t have to hand write or retype things. Sorry I can’t help you much if it’s not an agreeable divorce, because I don’t know anything about the area you live in. Best Wishes.
