I’m looking for a cheap divorce attorney in the Marion, Dillon, Florence area of South Carolina. It is an uncontested divorce, but there are children involved. She’s a crack addict & probably won’t even show up. I know you can fill out the paper work yourself, but I want to make sure the wording is just right so that I won’t have to pay 0 filing fee over & over. I just need an attorney that will fill out the paper work & show up at the hearing to make sure this goes off with no problems. We have been separated for almost 4 years now & it’s time to move on.I will of course have full custody of the kids. She isn’t capable of taking care of them. She will not fight me on this.

Get an attorney with a referral from someone you know, who divorced and is happy with their divorce. You don’t want to save money on an issue like this if it means that there are loop holes and your ex can then come back and take the kids back full time, for ex. I can’t stress how important it is to have a good attorney. You want someone who will keep a crack addicted mother away from the kids, while she has a crack habit. You don’t just want the end of a marriage.
Contact Legal Aide in your area. They are best to give you proper advice and tell you costs/fees. I would make absolutely sure you have all the proper wording regarding full custody and any possible visitation. Children do not need to be exposed to someone on drugs be it their mother or not. Also make sure that you leave the possibility of child support from her open, she may clean up someday. Also make sure there will be no possibility of alimony to her. Make sure you have all the bases covered, even though you are sure she will not make a fuss, better be very sure than sorry.
